Basic Security Fundamental (BSF) Support Instructors I
to support the U.S. Navy's Master-at-Arms "A" School. This role delivers classroom, laboratory, and blended learning instruction to develop Navy Security Force personnel in law enforcement, antiterrorism, and physical security operations.This is a high-visibility position within a high-risk training environment, requiring professionalism, technical expertise, and the ability to train Sailors in critical security operations.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Deliver formalized instruction in accordance with Center for Security Forces (CENSECFOR) curriculum. Provide training in the following areas:
Use of force continuum and confrontation management. Security patrols, policing methods, and apprehension procedures. Non-lethal weapons employment and crowd control. First aid, CPR, and lifesaving skills. Incident management and report writing.
Maintain classroom decorum, enforce Navy standards, and support student success. Supervise students during all evolutions related to course objectives. Administer and grade examinations, provide remediation, and track student performance. Maintain accurate Instructor Training Jacket (ITJ) records per Navy requirements. Support curriculum reviews, updates, and Navy Academic Review Board (ARB) processes. Ensure compliance with Navy training safety protocols. Other duties as assigned by your Supervisor. Minimum Qualifications :
Completion of Navy Instructor Training Course (NITC A-012-0077)
or
equivalent military/civilian instructor certification. Certification as a
Non-Lethal Weapons - Basic Instructor (NLW BI)
(provided by CENSECFOR). No NCIC criminal record of conviction. Minimum of
five (5) years operational patrol experience
as a certified law enforcement officer (civilian or military)
OR
prior experience instructing military law enforcement/security tactics within the past two years. Minimum of
two (2) years instructional delivery experience . Proficiency with adult learning methods, classroom management, and instructional technology. Strong communication skills, both oral and written. Valid Texas driver's license and ability to operate government-owned vehicles. Ability to obtain and maintain a
Favorable Tier 3 Background Investigation . Must meet Navy grooming and dress code standards. Desired Skills :
Prior Navy or Department of Defense instructional experience. Familiarity with U.S. Navy rank structure, terminology, and command environment. Experience operating in high-risk training environments. Demonstrated professionalism and leadership in law enforcement/security roles.
