Mission/Objective:

Seek for high efficiency on all production/press lines to increase safety, quality and productivity through the continual implementation of Lean Manufacturing practices as well as the improvement and innovation of equipment, processes and procedures.

What does your day look like? Define manufacturing standards. Seek the continual improvement of manufacturing processes (productivity and profitability) by applying the principles of Lean Manufacturing and engineering. Track process performance (safety, quality, productivity and costs) indicators; identify problems and set countermeasures by applying Metalsa's Problem Solving methodology to avoid recurrence. Research and develop new applications (technology) to production processes. Guarantee the processes are safe and ergonomic for the Team workers. Collaborate in the design of new tooling/press processes Lead changeover reduction strategies Develop manufacturing processes and provide cost estimations for new business. Approve tooling, fixtures and process designs. Coordinate and/or Lead Meetings with specialty teams for troubleshooting, project implementation and engineering changes. Assist product management group on processing, quoting, implementing, launching, and maintaining engineering changes. Manage control, documentation of PFMEAs, work instructions, and assets. Comply with the internal control of its area (audit current practices and update procedures) Attend and respond to internal and external audits. Comply with Safety, Quality and Environmental Guidelines and systems that apply to the plant, process or specific areas. Comply with and supports implementation of MOS and Metalsa Model practices. Plan and manage daily, weekly, and yearly projects for production. Educate and Train organization on MOS lean principles and tools such as Standardized Work, Change Over, Just in Time, etc. Process KPI's follow up: Weekly meetings KPI's boards (OEE, PR, OA, MTBF, MTBR, JPH, Frames x people, etc.) Natural Business Teams (NBT's) Support Local Vendor/ Supplier Development Ensure Plant Design Standards are Maintained Maintain, Manage, Control Mechanical Drawings Material and Information Flowcharts (Continuous Improvement) Changeover control and improvement Assist the plant with miscellaneous tasks, such as inventory, process emergencies, and other urgent situations Troubleshooting machines inside press and tools Documentation of any changes and new settings for machines Flexibility to cover / support multiple processes if needed Academic and Experience

Engineering Degree (Mechanical or Industrial) or Equivalent experience (Required) At least 2-5 yrs of Manufacturing Experience (Required) Experience in Automotive Industry (Preferred) Technical Skills

Problem Solving. AutoCAD. Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA). Kaizen Process Indicators (OEE) Project Management Lean Manufacturing Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point, etc.) Knowledge of the APQP process (advanced productive quality planning).
