About Company:

Cen-Tex Family Services, Inc. (Cen-Tex) is a private, non-profit agency founded in 1993. Cen-Tex receives grant funds to provide Early Head Start/Head Start programs in Bastrop, Lee, Fayette, and Colorado counties. These programs are administered by the Office of Head Start, Department of Health and Human Services and carried out through the Hearts of Texas Head Start Program.

About the Role:

The Education Coach plays a pivotal role in enhancing the educational experience for both students and educators within the organization. This position focuses on providing personalized coaching and support to teachers, helping them to implement effective instructional strategies and improve student outcomes. The Education Coach will collaborate with school staff to identify areas for growth and develop tailored professional development plans. By fostering a culture of continuous improvement, the Education Coach will contribute to the overall success of the educational programs. Ultimately, this role aims to empower educators to reach their full potential, thereby positively impacting student learning and achievement.

Minimum Qualifications: Education:

Baccalaureate, or advanced degree including at least 6 college courses (18 hours) in early childhood education and/or child development.

Experience:

Must have extensive knowledge of early childhood education including all domains of learning and development. Should have some familiarity with current research, and an understanding of how that research can be translated into classroom instruction. Training and experience in adult learning and effective communication skills are a must. Further, must be able to individualize using assessment data to drive coaching strategies.

Experience providing and implementing early childhood education service activities and training for teaching staff is also required. Familiarity working and communicating with culturally, linguistically, developmentally, and age-diverse groups is also helpful.

Five years of experience that may include any combination of teaching infant - 5-year-old children in a licensed childcare center.

Three years of experience coaching and mentoring staff on implementation of the theories and principles of child growth and development, early childhood education; supervision and training of adults; educational program development, management, and assessment; and teaching in a Head Start classroom. Responsibilities:

Conduct regular classroom observations to assess teaching practices and provide constructive feedback. Develop and facilitate professional development workshops and training sessions for educators. Collaborate with teachers to create individualized coaching plans that address specific instructional needs. Analyze student performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement in teaching methods. Support the implementation of curriculum changes and new educational initiatives within the school.

The required skills for this position include strong communication and interpersonal abilities, which are essential for building relationships with educators and fostering a collaborative environment. Analytical skills are crucial for interpreting student performance data and identifying areas for instructional improvement. The ability to design and deliver engaging professional development sessions is also vital, as it directly impacts the effectiveness of the coaching provided. Preferred skills, such as experience with educational technology, enhance the coach's ability to integrate innovative tools into teaching practices. Overall, a combination of these skills will enable the Education Coach to effectively support educators in their professional growth and improve student learning outcomes.
