Travel Nurse RN - NICU - $2,182 per week in Columbia, MO

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: NICU Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience with 1 year in the NICU specialty required License: Active nursing license required Certifications: BLS, NRP required Must-Have: - NICU II experience required - Charting experience using Cerner - Previous charge experience preferred Description: This position requires working every other weekend and 50% of holidays. Floating within the cluster is mandatory. The nurse will care for a patient ratio of 1:3-4 during shifts. Must possess skills in IV vasopressors, isolation precautions, and central line care. Experience in supporting breastfeeding and handling breast milk is required. Knowledge of feeding methods, oxygen delivery systems, and neonatal abstinence syndrome is essential. Familiarity with caring for neonates between 29-34 weeks is required. Experience with umbilical artery catheter (UAC) and umbilical vein catheter (UVC) management is necessary. Knowledge of surfactants, steroids, and bubble CPAP is important. Unit consists of interdisciplinary support from various medical teams including physical therapy and respiratory services. Patient diagnoses include respiratory distress syndrome, infections, fetal anomalies, and more. Special procedures may include central line placement, bedside surgeries, and eye exams. Special equipment utilized includes blankets, incubators, and bilirubin lights. Compliance with floating requirements to various units is essential. Travelers will be expected to float to any area as needed. This position values teamwork and effective communication among a diverse clinical team.
