We are seeking an experienced
Electrical Estimator
to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will prepare accurate cost estimates for electrical projects, develop competitive bids, and support the growth of our industrial contracting services. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of electrical systems, excellent organizational skills, and experience with estimating software.
Schedule:
Regular Hours (Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm)
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare accurate
cost estimates
for conceptual, design-build, and general tender electrical projects.
Calculate materials, labor, and equipment costs independently, based on proposals, plans, and specifications.
Review project data to determine material and labor requirements and create detailed itemized lists.
Draft
requests for quotations (RFQs)
to secure competitive pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
Utilize
estimating software
(e.g., Accubid Classic or Anywhere) to ensure precise cost calculations.
Collaborate with the Estimating Manager to establish indirect costs and overheads for each project.
Perform additional duties to meet company objectives and contribute to business growth.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field ; equivalent trade experience considered.
2+ years of electrical estimating experience
in the electrical contracting industry.
Proven experience preparing electrical service quotes/estimates.
Strong knowledge of
electrical sub-trades
and their scope of work.
Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs.
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Proficiency in
Microsoft Office
(Word, Excel) and experience with
Accubid Estimating Software .
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict project deadlines.
Professional demeanor and ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization, customers, and partners.
