Description

The client is seeking a skilled

Hydrologic & Hydraulic (H&H) Engineer

to join a fast-growing team dedicated to innovative flood and water resource solutions. This role offers the opportunity to work on impactful projects nationwide, combining technical expertise with problem-solving to address real-world challenges.

The position is best suited for engineers with FEMA project experience, strong technical modeling skills, and a desire to contribute in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment. Hybrid flexibility is available, though candidates able to work in-office are highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for stormwater, riverine, and floodplain systems.

Perform flood risk assessments, drainage studies, and mitigation planning.

Design and evaluate stormwater systems, culverts, and detention basins.

Lead FEMA (C)LOMR/MT-2 regulatory submissions and associated documentation.

Ensure regulatory compliance through collaboration with clients, agencies, and internal teams.

Support permitting efforts for water resource and floodplain projects.

Prepare technical reports, documentation, and review modeling results.

Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers.

Qualifications:

Bachelors or Masters degree in

Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering , or related field.

Minimum

5 years of H&H engineering experience .

Proficiency in

HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, ICPR, Civil 3D, and GIS .

Experience with

FEMA LOMR/MT-2 floodplain mapping

and stormwater management design.

MT-2 experience required.

Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects effectively.

Project management experience preferred.

PE license preferred .

FEMA project background highly desirable.
