Bus Monitor-Full Time
Qualifications:
Any combination equivalent to:
high school diploma, G.E.D. Certificate or demonstrated progress toward
obtaining a G.E.D. as required by Kentucky law.
Reports To:
Transportation Director, Bus Driver, Special
Education Director, and Superintendent
Job Duties/ Responsibilities:
1. Assists preschool/exceptional children on and off
the bus. Escorts the children across street upon return home.
Assures responsible adult meets students leaving the bus.
Lifts children as required. Operates equipment, including wheelchairs, tie-downs, seat belts,
harnesses, mechanical lift and other
adaptive equipment as necessary.
Assists parents and school personnel with safe loading and unloading of students.
Coordinates seating of exceptional students.
8. Consults with and assist bus driver in
documentation of student information and record-keeping.
Participates in professional development activities as assigned.
Monitors and assists students while bus is in operation.
Maintains current knowledge of Emergency Evacuation procedures.
Communicates with classroom aides, teachers, principals, and parents
concerning student background, medical
problems and behavior as appropriate.
Performs related duties as assigned. Understands and relate to children with special needs.
Establishes and maintains cooperative and effective working relationships with
others.
Observes health and safety regulations.
Terms of Service:
Classified Salary.
Salary Schedule set by the Bath County Board of Education.
