JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Level 1 IT Technician to support our growing construction operations. This entry-level position is vital for ensuring that our employees-both on-site and in the office-have the tools, technology, and support needed to work efficiently and securely. The ideal candidate is responsive, organized, and eager to grow their technical skills in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
SALARY RANGE:
$28.85 - $33.65 hourly, $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 annually (Seattle range)
BENEFITS:
Group medical, vision, and dental insurance, including a choice of two benefit plans - a PPO plan and a High Deductible/ Health Savings Account plan with company contribution to HSA. Company-paid short and long-term disability plans, group life insurance, and AD&D plans. Vacation accrued on a weekly basis at a full-time annualized equivalent rate of 15 days (3 work weeks) per year. Sick leave accrued at 1 hour of sick leave for every 30 hours worked with an annual carryover of 80 hours. 10 paid holidays each year. Paid parental leave. Annual discretionary bonus based on company profitability and your manager's assessment of your performance. A 401(k) savings plan under which BNB matches the first 3 percent of your deferral with a 100% match and the next two percent with a 50% match for a total matching contribution of 4% of your pay. You are immediately 100% vested in all contributions (including BNB match). We provide both traditional (pre-tax) and Roth (post-tax) contribution options. It's 100% company-funded and is invested in BNBuilders stock. You can participate in this long-term plan after you complete 1 year of service (with at least 1,000 hours). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serve as the first point of contact for walk-up support inquiries and assist users with basic IT issues. Create, document, and manage Level 1 support tickets, escalating to Tier 2 when necessary. Image, configure, and deploy desktop computers, laptops, and mobile devices for new users or hardware refreshes. Develop and maintain end-user documentation and knowledge base (KB) articles. Provide remote and onsite support for common software-related issues, including productivity tools and construction-specific applications. Track, manage, and update hardware inventory records for both incoming and outgoing IT assets. Assist with routine patching and maintenance of end-user equipment, ensuring compliance with the latest updates (OS, firmware, antivirus, drivers, and approved software). Support the installation and configuration of company-approved software across all user devices. Provide technical assistance for video conferencing systems and meetings. Deliver basic training to end users on tools, applications, and IT policies to improve technology adoption and reduce support requests. Participate in internal IT team meetings and contribute to process improvement discussions. Lead Onboarding Orientations to our new hires. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or technical certification in IT-related field preferred. 1+ year of experience in a help desk, desktop support, or similar IT support role. Familiarity with Windows OS, Microsoft 365, mobile platforms (iOS/Android), and basic networking. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Able to adapt to a fast-paced environment within the construction field. CompTIA A+ is a plus. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience working in or supporting IT for construction or field-based industries. Familiarity with IT asset management systems and ticketing tools (e.g., Zendesk, Freshservice). Exposure to Active Directory and endpoint management tools (e.g., Entra, Intune, ADManage). Basic understanding of cybersecurity and compliance best practices.
