Seneca Gaming Corporation
The Painter shall be responsible for maintenance and repair of all surface finishes throughout the interior and exterior of the casino and auxiliary facilities. All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of the Seneca Gaming Corporation's policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards and objectives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Paint, stain, varnish, plaster, wallpaper and apply other finishes to structures throughout casino and support facilities. Must also be familiar with various specialty paint techniques used throughout the casino; including the use of faux finishes and Venetian plaster.
2. Choose the right paint or finish for the surface to be covered, taking into account durability, ease of handling, method of application and the customers' wishes.
3. Prepare the surfaces to be covered so the paint will adhere properly, requiring the removal of the old coat by stripping, sanding, wire brushing, burning, or water and abrasive blasting.
4. Wash walls and trim to remove dirt and grease, fill nail holes and cracks, sandpaper rough spots and brush off dust.
5. Mix paints and match colors.
6. Repair plaster, wallpaper and other finishes.
7. Caulk windows, cracks and joints and selecting correct product for specific application.
8. Maintain records of all surface finishes in casino and other facilities.
9. Assist in other projects, as directed. Including but, not limited to those projects normally performed by engineers, laborers, carpenters and physical plant employees.
10. Maintain a current understanding of all policy and guidelines regarding information security including the Seneca Gaming Corporation Acceptable Use Policy. Understand and comply with all information security policies and procedures at all times.
11. Provide exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicates in a pleasant, friendly and professional manner at all times. Maintain a professional work environment with supervisors, managers and staff.
12. Meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
13. Must complete all required SGC Training programs within nine (9) months from commencement of employment.
14. Attend all necessary meetings.
15. Duties, responsibilities, requirements and expectations pertaining to this job are subject to change as needed. Hours are determined by a 24-hour schedule.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Experience: 1. Must be 18 years of age or older upon employment. 2. Three (3) to four (4) years professional work experience in painting and either plasterwork, drywall or wallpaper installation. a. Painting learned through apprenticeship or informal, on-the-job instruction. (Although training authorities recommend completion of an apprenticeship program as the best way to become a painter, most opt for informal training.) b. Apprenticeship for painters consists of three to four years of on-the-job training. Apprentices receive instruction in color harmony, use and care to tools and surface preparation, application techniques, paint mixing and matching, characteristics of different finishes, blueprint reading, wood finishing and safety. 3. High school diploma or its equivalency required. 4. Previous customer service experience preferred. 5. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be able to substantiate a safe driving record within the parameters acceptable to our liability insurance carrier.
Language Skills and Reasoning Ability: 1. Must make effective decisions by analyzing information and considering priorities and seizing opportunities to initiate and take ownership of project and improvements are key skills. 2. Must supply management, basic safety, equipment maintenance, thoroughness, independence and excellent communication skills. 3. Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, employees and customers. 4. Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the customers and employees. 5. Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner. 6. Must be in good physical condition, have good manual dexterity and good color sense.

Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds. 3. Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment and effectively deal with customers, management, employees and members of the business community in all situations.
Salary Starting Rate: $21.35 Compensation is negotiable based on experience and education.
