About Big Brothers Big Sisters Bay Area's Program:

Our urgent and essential mission is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. We pair young people referred to our program by parents, guardians, teachers and social workers with a screened, qualified volunteer adult mentor through a comprehensive matching process, which emphasizes compatibility, commitment, and child safety. We enroll children and youth 8-17 years old across all nine greater Bay Area Counties (Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano & Sonoma). Why Volunteer with BBBSBA:

Supporting youth holistically through 1:1 mentorship is a critical and essential service to children and families. Our model has been touted by the World Bank as one of the best practices for re-engaging youth in education and by the CDC for our role in preventing and buffering against Adverse Childhood Experiences. By becoming a Mentor (AKA Big), you have the opportunity to make a profound and lasting impact on the life of a child or teenager facing adversity. BBBSBA provides a structured framework and ongoing support, ensuring you have the necessary resources and guidance to make a meaningful difference. By volunteering with BBBSBA, you join a passionate community dedicated to creating positive change and shaping a brighter future for Bay Area youth. The primary commitment is 2-4 meetings with a young person per month for one year. Want to learn more? Join one of our Information Sessions! Register on eventbrite:
