Job Description The Project Manager will oversee the

Provider Enrollment and Management System (PEMS) Plus Credentialing Project , ensuring successful integration of credentialing applications used by MCOs/DMOs into PEMS. This project streamlines Medicaid provider enrollment and credentialing, reducing administrative steps while ensuring provider qualifications are verified.

The PM will coordinate with Provider Services, governance committees, and external stakeholders, managing timelines, risks, dependencies, and testing. Responsibilities include leading project staff, reporting on project progress, ensuring deliverables meet operational and technical requirements, and facilitating clear communication with leadership, vendors, and program teams.

Responsibilities

Coordinate with PEMS sprint teams and Provider Services.

Develop, maintain, and monitor integrated project timelines aligned with PEMS schedules

Manage project plans, tasks, schedules, and status updates; share updates with stakeholders.

Oversee and report on critical path dependencies across PEMS projects.

Communicate project status, risks, and issues to HHSC management, vendors, and teams; develop mitigation plans.

Facilitate efficient meetings, document key decisions, and track deliverables.

Design strategies to reduce or avoid risks and ensure quality outcomes.

Required Experience & Skills

8+ years managing large-scale IT projects, including system integration, resource and vendor management, and procurement transition.

7+ years with Medicaid Enterprise Systems, including MMIS.

7+ years of Medicaid business operations and project oversight experience, including critical path facilitation across multiple projects.

Demonstrated ability to identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and implement effective solutions.

Proven track record meeting tight deadlines.

Strong stakeholder engagement and vendor coordination experience.

Expertise with Microsoft Office (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook).

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Ability to set project goals aligned with state/HHS strategic plans and federal directives.

PMP certification from a recognized organization.

Experience

Knowledge of Medicaid programs.

Experience with Health and Human Services operations.

Experience with provider enrollment systems.

Scrum Master certification.
