JOB DESCRIPTION
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:
The work involves assisting faculty, staff and students in the utilization of college technology and concepts.. The incumbent develops training materials for college adopted technologies, provides in-person and virtual learning sessions, troubleshoots technical issues related to the adoption and develops implementation or change management plans related to technology deployments. The work is performed under the general supervision of an administrator. May be responsible for supervising staff assigned. Does related work as required.
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:
Designs and delivers engaging learning sessions for employees or students on the use of technology and related concepts
Provide one-on-one coaching and group sessions tailored to varying skill levels
Develop user-friendly guides, tutorials, and documentation
Assists in the implementation of technology and related concepts, ensuring smooth adoption and minimal disruption.
Assesses and pilots emerging technologies for potential integrations into existing college classrooms, systems or processes
Creates implementation and change management plans for technology related deployments
Works within ITS to ensure technology is properly configured, supported and maintained
Troubleshoots basic hardware and software issues and escalate when necessary.
Maintains an inventory of technology assets and track usage trends
Contributes to the development of long-term technology integration strategies.
Analyzes feedback and usage data to provide reports and improve training programs and technology deployment
Keeps abreast of new technologies to ensure current principles and practices
Does related work as required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Thorough knowledge of computer concepts and principles associated with personal computers, good knowledge of the methods and techniques associated with the operation of personal computer software and hardware; ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; sound professional judgment; tact; industrious and dependability; physically capable of performing the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Educational Technology, Information Systems, Instructional Design, or related field. Three years of experience in technology training, IT support, or instructional technology.
