SUMMARY:
Provide students, staff and public with a safe, clean and operational environment in which to learn and develop.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Check and perform duties as listed, but not limited to, the facilities in their assigned areas: Checks heating and/or cooling of facilities. Notifies Maintenance Administratorif the building cannot be used. Checks exterior and interior lighting; including parking, soffit, exit, lights. Maintains facilities to keep them presentable (interior and exterior). Arranges equipment for activities as requested. Cleans all assigned classrooms, workrooms, halls, and entryways as required. Performs needed minor repairs and maintenance and reports in writing other needs to plant manager, Director of Maintenance and Facilities, and/or Maintenance Coordinator designee. Checks custodial calendar for activities and plans accordingly. Supervises oversees night staff. Performs additional duties as assigned by the Maintenance Administrator Secures all campus doors, gates and lock and activates security system before leaving each. Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees, community members and vendors. Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality. Other job related duties as assigned. Education/Certification:
Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints ( IVP ) Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ IVP FPCC) High school diploma or G.E.D. Experience:
One (1) year of maintenance experience Abilities:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and walk for several hours at a time. Relates to public, staff and students in a positive manner. Ability to supervise other staff. Ability to perform minor maintenance tasks. Ability to read, interpret and analyze general business documents, government regulations, and technical procedures. Ability to create and write reports, business correspondence and written communications with correct grammar and punctuation. Ability to speak to large and small groups and respond to questions from customers, employees and community members. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to interpret assortment of instructions furnished in variable forms. Ability to apply reason to research and solve moderately complex issues with little or no assistance.
