Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable government regulations. Compile and analyze statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and establish price objectives. Identify, develop, and select qualified suppliers. Evaluate supplier reliability and performance. Coordinate competitive and sole source procurements to meet required purchase dates. Prepare required support documentation. Review and analyze suppliers' bids, performing cost and/or price analysis. Conduct major procurement negotiations involving agreements on terms, conditions, prices, and schedules. Participate in cost and pricing reviews with program management and customers. Follow up, expedite, and negotiate changes related to delivery and supplier performance. Maintain professional relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers. Represent the organization as the primary purchasing contact on assigned contracts/subcontracts. Provide advice to professional or technical staff on purchasing matters. Observe all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in business administration or related discipline, or equivalent professional purchasing experience. Level 3 requires 6 years of experience and a Bachelor's degree (or 12 years of experience) Level 4 required 10 years of experience and a Bachelor's degree (or 16+ years of experience) Complete understanding of purchasing concepts and principles, FAR, and related governmental rules and regulations. Ability to provide solutions to a range of complex purchasing problems. Strong communication and presentation skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Ability to organize, schedule, and coordinate multiple work phases. Ability to lead less experienced purchasing staff on projects. Strong computer skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
SAP experience is desirable. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to work extended hours as required. Limited travel may be required.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $43.25 - $50.48/hr.
