Job Summary
We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Mechanical Lab Technician to perform mechanical testing and support production validation using a variety of lab equipment. This role involves test setup, execution, troubleshooting, and equipment calibration to ensure product performance meets required standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, experience with testing procedures, and a commitment to maintaining quality.
Key Responsibilities Perform mechanical tests on components and assemblies using various laboratory equipment. Set up test apparatus and conduct tests following established methods, procedures, standards, and sequences. Lay out and assemble units for production equipment based on technical designs and specifications. Adjust, calibrate, and maintain test systems and equipment as needed. Modify equipment by adding, removing, or adjusting components per predetermined diagrams and sketches. Troubleshoot and correct malfunctions by making adjustments or replacing defective parts or components. Utilize hand tools, small power tools, measuring instruments, and testing devices during equipment assembly and testing. Monitor and verify quality during and after testing, in accordance with statistical process control or other quality procedures.
Required Qualifications Prior experience working in a mechanical or testing laboratory environment. Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. Familiarity with mechanical testing equipment and related tools. Ability to perform calibrations, adjustments, and equipment modifications. Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring devices. Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Effective communication and documentation abilities.
Preferred Qualifications Experience in a manufacturing or engineering test lab environment. Knowledge of quality control procedures and statistical process control methods.
