Entry-Level Data Center Cable Technician - Long-Term Contract

Long-term, open-ended (6-12+ months) Hourly Rate:
$21-25/hr Multiple Openings Available! Summary: As a Level 1 Data Center Cable Technician, you will be integral in ensuring reliable connectivity and optimal network performance. This role emphasizes cable routing, termination, labeling, testing, and troubleshooting. Key Responsibilities: Install, route, and secure copper (Cat5e/6/6a) and fiber optic cables within ladder racks, trays, conduits, and cabinets. Terminate copper cabling to patch panels, jacks, and network equipment following industry standards (TIA/EIA). Assist with fiber optic terminations, polishing, and splicing under supervision. Label cables, patch panels, and racks in accordance with site documentation standards. Perform basic cable testing and certification using tools such as Fluke testers, OTDR, and continuity testers. Support moves, adds, and changes (MACs) of cabling and hardware as requested. Qualifications: 0-2 years of experience in cabling, low-voltage wiring, or a related technical field. Basic knowledge of structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA, BICSI). Familiarity with copper and fiber cabling, patch panels, and network racks. Ability to use hand tools, cable testers, and labeling equipment. Eagerness to learn advanced fiber and copper installation techniques. BICSI Installer 1 certification or equivalent training preferred. Experience in a data center, telecom, or IT cabling environment preferred.
