Job Designation The Assembler 2 position performs disassembly, assembly, re-work, and minimum testing of various electrical/electronic equipment.
Job Core Responsibilities • Ability to use electric soldering equipment to the J-STD standard. • Cut, prepare and pre-tin wires, prepare batteries, Apply conformal coat, marking and adhesive bonding • Follow written and verbal instructions • Complete work according to instructions, specifications and procedures, under direct and/or limited supervision • Perform a variety of complex mechanical and/or electromechanical assembly operations in accordance with company instructions and procedures • Conduct inspections of own and/or other associates work to insure correctness in accordance with company and/or customer drawing • Maintain a clean and orderly workstation adhering to 6S standards • Maintain an acceptable attendance and safety record • Adhere to all company guidelines, policies and procedures • Additional job duties and tasks as needed • Assist other departments with job duties, tasks, training, and development as needed • Complete additional job duties and tasks as assigned and instructed by Lead Tech / Supervisor
Job Specifications Education: A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations is preferred. Certifications: Vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field Years Experience: Minimum of 2 years prior work experience in an electronics/manufacturing environment or completed OJT training for at least 5 products.
Skills: • Good mechanical aptitude • Able to operate a variety of hand tools and light machinery • Capable of performing basic mathematics • Ability to read and interpret company documents, such as safety rules, operating/manufacturing instructions, policies and procedure • Good manual dexterity required to work with small parts • Able to problem-solve using existing procedures to perform straightforward tasks • Effective oral, written and interpersonal skills
Physical Requirements: • Approximately 90% sitting and 10% standing/walking about in-door Company facilities. • Lift and Carry up to 30 lbs. • Use hand tools, power tools and electric soldering gun. • Use head and neck in static position, looking up/down and side-to-side. • Perform major hand grasping and fine finger manipulations using both hands. • Perform light lifting from floor, table and shelf. • Push and pull carts or mobile tables, loaded and unloaded. • Minimal: heavy lifting from floor or higher, bending, twisting, climbing, lifting arms above shoulders, kneeling. • Minimal: exposure to excessive noise, hazardous chemicals, hazardous equipment, uneven walking surfaces.
