Overview:

A leading defense technology organization is seeking a Cyber Systems Security Engineer to join its Program Protection team. This group is responsible for safeguarding advanced technologies through embedded cybersecurity and Anti-Tamper solutions across multiple product lines.

This is not a traditional ISSO/ISSM role. We’re looking for a hands-on engineer with deep experience in embedded systems, firmware/software security, and hardware-integrated platforms. If you’ve implemented security features at the embedded level and understand the unique challenges of securing mission-critical systems, this role is for you.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Lead embedded System Security Engineering efforts throughout the DoD Weapon System development lifecycle

Design and implement security features in embedded software and firmware

Assess and mitigate system security threats and risks

Decompose and validate security requirements for embedded platforms

Develop and verify hardware/software-based security solutions

Architect and deploy advanced embedded cybersecurity countermeasures

Analyze vulnerabilities and threats targeting embedded systems

Prototype and test embedded security defenses against cyber-attacks

Required Skills & Experience:

2–4 years of cybersecurity experience

2–4 years of engineering experience

1–2 years of embedded systems experience

1–2 years working with Risk Management Framework (RMF)

1–2 years of system security implementation experience

Preferred Skills:

Systems engineering

Software development

Requirements analysis

DoD Weapon System cybersecurity experience

Vulnerability analysis

Ideal Candidate Profile:

You’re an engineer who thrives in hands-on environments, understands embedded platforms, and has experience implementing security at the firmware/software level. You’re comfortable working across disciplines and contributing to the development of secure, high-assurance systems.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $58.80 - $58.80/hr.
