Job Title: Phlebotomist I
Location:
Saint Augustine, FL Duration: 4+ Months (Possibility of Extension and conversion based upon performance)
Shift: Mon-Fri 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM. Mandatory Saturday rotation 7 AM -12 PM.
Job Description: The Phlebotomist I serves as the face of our organization, providing compassionate and professional service to patients during routine health visits or critical diagnostic procedures. This role involves collecting high-quality blood specimens, ensuring accurate labeling and documentation, and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment. The Phlebotomist I is expected to demonstrate leadership behaviors, uphold confidentiality standards, and deliver excellence in patient care.
Responsibilities: Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures using aseptic techniques. Label and document specimens accurately with patient information and collection time. Excellent phlebotomy skills to include pediatric and geriatric. Follow all infection control and safety procedures. Transport specimens to the appropriate laboratory or prepare them for courier pickup. Assist patients who experience adverse reactions during or after blood collection. Maintain accurate records in the electronic medical record system. Order and stock phlebotomy supplies as needed.
Qualifications/Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent REQUIRED. Minimum of 6 months experience REQUIRED. One(+) years phlebotomy experience preferred. Customer service in a preferred retail or service environment. Keyboard/data entry experience a must.
