Internships at Cvent
Cvent's paid internship gives students hands-on experience and direct mentorship that supports their professional development and career growth after college graduation. Interns are exposed to the inner workings of an industry-leading software company while taking ownership of projects that contribute to the company's continued success. Interns may receive an offer for full-time employment after graduation.
As a Software Engineer in Test Intern at Cvent, you will be a member of an agile team environment and you will learn, practice, and drive the software quality best practices we use that help make our software the industry leader. Coordination, planning, execution, automation scripting and driving root cause and corrective actions are only a few of the many activities your work will entail.
Cvent fosters an environment that focuses on continuous self-improvement and learning. By joining you will be given an opportunity to flourish in your new role. You will be welcomed by like-minded team members and mentored by management that is eager to assist you in your professional development.
You will sit within our Quality Engineering team, and work with Software Engineer Sprint teams, but rather than coding 24/7, you will do functional, automation, performance, and security testing. Beyond testing, you will use your coding skills to debug scripts, automate processes, review developer designs, and more!
In This Role, You Will:
Work on enterprise software solutions, where performance, reliability and scalability are critical design goals necessary to run large-scale events. Learn how to design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for web and/or mobile applications under the guidance of experienced team members. Be introduced to executing both manual and automated test cases, as well as logging and tracking software defects in our systems. Observe and participate in reviews of requirements, specifications, and technical designs, learning best practices for providing constructive feedback. Get involved in code review sessions and discover how to contribute to improving software testability. Receive training in analyzing test results, identifying root causes of issues, and suggesting process improvements. Practice documenting test plans, test procedures, and results for assigned projects, with mentorship from QA professionals. Develop an understanding of software quality assurance and automation best practices, with support and regular feedback from your team. Here's What You Need:
We care more about your attitude and aptitude than the specific tools and technologies you have used in the past. You need to have a strong passion for software quality and must take pride in the software the team is producing.
In addition to this, our ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:
Full-time college student with plans to graduate in May 2027 (summer between Junior & Senior year) Ability to work 40 hours per week for 10 weeks Ability to commute to our headquarters in Tysons Corner, VA Bachelors or Post Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Human-Computer Interaction, or related technical degree. The ability and willingness to work alongside senior team members and managers to further your professional development.
Most importantly, a successful candidate will be passionate about technology. Keeping up with the latest advancements in the industry; spending time creating, building, and exploring technical projects; an inquisitive attitude in regard to the workings of hardware and software; and overall, simply having fun and finding enjoyment in the field.
