Class 1 Tool Builders
to join our team. This role requires true tool-building expertise, with the ability to read complex prints, work independently, and build precision tools from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities:
Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to build tools and fixtures to exact specifications. Perform precision fitting, machining, drilling, and assembly of components using manual and power tools. Work with tight tolerances, ensuring accuracy and functionality of completed tools. Troubleshoot and resolve issues during tool build, including fit, alignment, and function. Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and other team members to refine designs and improve tool performance. Maintain high safety and quality standards throughout the build process. Support installation, tryout, and verification of tools in production environments. Qualifications:
Proven experience as a
Class 1 Tool Builder
or equivalent role. Strong knowledge of toolmaking principles, precision assembly, and machining practices. Ability to read and interpret detailed blueprints and engineering specifications. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.). Problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail. Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or as part of a team. Preferred:
Experience in automation, welding fixtures, or assembly tooling. Apprenticeship, journeyman card, or equivalent technical training.
