About the Role

The Clinical Nurse Abstractor is primarily responsible for reviewing, collecting, and analyzing patient medical records to ensure accurate and high-quality data abstraction for submission to the National Cardiovascular Data Registries (NCDR). This role also involves managing clinical data to support the organization's quality improvement initiatives and to comply with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do Reviews patient medical records to extract relevant clinical information. Collects and analyzes data to ensure accuracy and completeness. Ensures high-quality data abstraction for submission to the National Cardiovascular Data Registries (NCDR). Manages clinical data in alignment with organizational quality improvement goals. Supports compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements through accurate data handling. Contributes to continuous quality improvement by providing reliable clinical data insights. Qualifications

What You'll Bring

Required:

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New Jersey

required Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or other health-related field

preferred Experience with Cardiology NCDR Registries data abstraction

required Experience in Cath Lab nursing

required Strong understanding of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, and treatment modalities

required Knowledge of Cath Lab procedures and supplies

required Knowledge of Billing CPT/HCPCS codes

preferred Familiarity with Cupid-Epic-Resolute documentation system

preferred Must have analytical and statistical expertise in healthcare data management Experience performing exploratory data analysis

required Background in case management and/or quality improvement

preferred Experience working with electronic medical records (EMRs)

Compensation (NJ Job Transparency Law)

The expected salary range for this position is PS/25S: $70, 842- $101,633 per year, in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
