? Reduce loneliness, visit an older adult friend!

Do you speak Russian? Get matched with an older adult and help reduce isolation while making a new friend! Visit weekly to share stories, take a walk, or do an activity together. We are currently looking for volunteers interested in being a Friendly Visitor in-person for elders living in Boston, Brookline, Newton, Cambridge, and Somerville. Scheduling is flexible, volunteers must be 18+, and ideally this time commitment would be 9-12 months. Some locations in Newton (not all) may require a car. This work is accomplished by recruiting volunteers of all ages, faiths, and backgrounds who provide friendship, advocacy, education, assistance, and emotional support. Volunteers are critical to helping address the serious health risks posed by social isolation in the elder community. In turn, you are rewarded with rich one-on-one relationships.
