Description: Community Consolidated School District 89 is seeking to hire a Resource Aide for Glen Crest Middle School. This position is five days a week, FTE 1.0. This aide will support the needs of Middle School students, for the 2025-2026 school year. Our Resource Aides, along with our certified teachers, work to form positive learning experiences for students in assigned areas of study. The Resource Aide specifically, will work with students individually and in small groups, helping them to attain their learning objectives and reinforce classroom lessons.
Qualifications:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned.)
Makes decisions and demonstrates leadership that supports the mission, vision, goals and interests of the district and of students. Communicates, collaborates, and cooperates with colleagues, supervisors, staff, and teacher applicants. Assists teachers in maintaining student discipline and classroom instruction. Escort children to and from various instructional areas, bathrooms, or playground. Assists with the setup of the classroom and prepares materials for specialized instructional units. Coordinates the use of audio-visual equipment and computers for the classroom. Keeps daily logs of student behavior and learning as directed by the classroom teacher. Implements de-escalation strategies and individualized student behavior intervention plans (token boards, choice boards, individualized schedules, etc.) Assists with personal care tasks such as toileting, positioning, student hygiene and feeding as dictated by student needs. Prepares and/or assists with various curricula, such as physical education, as directed. Evaluates student performance under the supervision of the classroom teacher Work with students individually or in small groups to reinforce and follow up learning activity. Serves as a source of information and help to any substitute teacher. Participates in in-service training programs as assigned (CPI annually). Advises the classroom teacher or principal immediately of the existence of any problems deemed to warrant prompt attention, advice, or intervention. Performs special assignments and other duties as determined by the classroom teacher or school administration.
Salary and Benefits:
All non-certified staff that fall under the Support Professional Association "SPA" are placed on a salary schedule according to position and experience as part of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The hourly range for this position is: $18.50-$22.25
Non-Certified staff experience 12 sick days and 2 personal days of paid time off. All full-time staff have the privilege of partaking in our health and dental insurance programs, these include 90% Board paid health insurance for the employee (80% Board paid for Family participants) and 100% Board paid dental insurance for the individual staff member.
