Mako Professionals is seeking an experienced
Information Security Administrator
to support compliance, risk mitigation, and data protection efforts within a high-security environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT security governance, regulatory frameworks, and hands-on experience with security tools, network controls, and compliance assessments. Key Responsibilities Analyze IT security policies and perform gap assessments Recommend improvements to align with compliance standards Respond to security incidents, threats, and vulnerabilities Monitor system logs, alerts, and patching across platforms Map data flows and support application security documentation Support compliance audits and generate reporting Foster security awareness across teams
Required Skills & Experience
5-7 years in IT security roles with hands-on controls Familiar with security compliance frameworks and standards Experience with tools like eSet, Proofpoint, Checkpoint, etc. Background in networking, scripting, DB design, or sysadmin Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration Project/change management experience in IT environments
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in public safety, government, or law enforcement settings Security certifications (CISSP, CISA, GIAC, or equivalent) Skilled in threat detection, vulnerability assessments, and patching
Work Conditions & Requirements
On-site work in Tampa, FL during standard business hours Must pass background screening, drug testing, and security vetting Candidates must reside in Florida or be able to relocate
