JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Philanthropy leads a comprehensive fundraising program that drives sustainable growth in contributed revenue across individual (leadership, annual, and major gifts), corporate, foundation, and special events, and oversees capital campaign execution. The role provides strategic leadership to the Development team, accountability for annual revenue goals and pipeline health, while ensuring best-practice stewardship, data-driven decision making, and strong partnership with Finance and Marketing to advance the Girl Scout mission.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Develop, execute, and evaluate a comprehensive annual fundraising strategy that aligns with organizational priorities and drives revenue growth across major gifts, corporate and foundation giving, individual giving, and special events Develop and implement a comprehensive annual stewardship plan tailored to key donor segments, establishing goals, measurable objectives, and targeted engagement tactics to deepen donor relationships Manage and grow a portfolio of individual donors with an annual giving potential of $200,000, including the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major gifts of $1,000 and above to build long-term, meaningful donor relationships Lead all aspects of the Development department, including team recruitment, coaching, performance management, and professional development, to build a high-performing, mission-driven team Collaborate with the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), senior leadership, and development staff to evaluate current fundraising strategies and design new approaches aligned with organizational priorities and donor interests Manage the implementation of the capital campaign, including prospect identification, cultivation, and solicitation of leadership and major gifts Partner with the Chief of Staff and the external agency on capital campaign strategy and project management Lead board and volunteer leadership training on fund development, equipping them with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to engage in donor cultivation and make effective philanthropic asks. Stay abreast of emerging trends in philanthropy and fund development to inform the creation of innovative strategies that expand and diversify the donor base and increase contributed revenue Develop and deliver monthly revenue reports, campaign updates, and progress dashboards to the CRO, Development Team, and Executive Team to ensure transparency and informed decision-making Oversee the donor database (CRM), ensuring data integrity, effective utilization of donor insights, and alignment with fundraising strategies and external engagement initiatives Represent the organization at community events, donor gatherings, and strategic partnerships that advance visibility and philanthropic engagement in alignment with the mission Successfully executes other duties as assigned Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Bachelor's degree in a related field (nonprofit management, marketing, business, journalism, etc.) Minimum of 7 years of nonprofit fundraising experience Knowledge of the Greater Atlanta area philanthropic community Proven ability to design and execute comprehensive fundraising plans across multiple channels (individual, corporate, foundation, and special events) Demonstrated success managing $2M+ portfolios and securing major gifts (e.g., $1,000+); campaign experience including pipeline development, gift agreements, naming, and communications. Experience leading and mentoring a high-performing development team Knowledge of budget development and administration, financial reporting, and ethical and compliance rules related to fundraising Ability to craft compelling donor messaging and campaign materials, aligned with organizational brand and mission Ability to solve problems and think strategically about opportunities to raise funds, balance competing priorities, and work collaboratively with colleagues Strong data analysis skills for tracking fundraising performance, generating reports, and informing strategy Highly professional demeanor with the ability to work successfully with a wide variety of constituents, including, but not limited to, donors, board members, volunteers, community partners, and colleagues Model high levels of motivation, professionalism, performance, dedication, and commitment Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Fundraising CRM Required attendance at evening and weekend events as necessary in support of the Council's mission
