ABOUT THE ROLE:
Rep Fitness is going global! As a company that is growing rapidly, we need an expert in global trade. In this role, you'll provide a high level of expertise in primarily North American and EU export-import controls. You will have experience in liaising and influencing senior stakeholders and external advisors. You will have a passion and enthusiasm for trade compliance and be excited about using your experience and expertise to develop Rep Fitness' approach. The role requires strong general customs compliance experience in an active and fast-paced manufacturing environment. A customs brokerage license is preferred but not required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Oversee company compliance with Import Export Compliance laws and regulations under US, EU and national export control laws and regulations.
Drive trade compliance excellence across international locations as defined by adherence to applicable specific countries and other local global trade compliance systems, laws and regulations pertaining to international trade.
Develop procedures, training modules, and assessment programs to identify compliance defects and areas of risk; develop solutions, and coordinate process improvements.
Ensure compliance manuals and related policies are established and maintained.
Classify and record all products with proper tariff classification HTS codes through partnership with operational teams.
Support import/export transactions as required for Assist Declarations, Antidumping and Countervailing Duties, Preferential trade agreements, Processing CF28/CF29, duty drawback, Carnets, USMCA certificate issuance or other FTA certifications, etc.
Ensure proper declarations on all import and export filings, including HTS/Schedule B, value, partner government agency requirements (PGA), ECCN, etc.
Perform entry admissibility review for all future products (e.g., PGA's and other potential roadblocks.
Manage Post Entry Audit and Value Reconciliation processing and reporting as applicable.
Manage CTPAT program, binding customs ruling requests, and country of origin determination as applicable.
Product Qualification - Create and establish processes to determine and document how a product qualifies for preferential treatment under various government Free Trade Agreements (FTAs).
Exercise oversight of day-to-day global classification operations collaborating with internal stakeholders, regional leaders, and with local freight forwarder/customs brokers
Implement companywide "GTC Audit Program" to include import entry filings, AES export filings, valuation methodology and internal GTC gaps to mitigate business risk.
Manage the selection, support and audit of Freight Forwarders and Customs Brokers globally.
Conduct internal audit and assessment of business activities for adherence to Import/Export procedures throughout the business lifecycle, including early-stage review of new products and classification/characterization of commodities through final delivery to customer.
Lead and support customs related filings for Foreign Trade Zones.
Monitor and evaluate global regulatory changes that impact compliance operations; inform management and implement appropriate process changes into day-to-day operations and procedures.
Monitor measure, and report Key Performance Indicators (KPI) related to Import/Export activities.
Evaluate new Government Agency requirements to ensure compliance with changes and incorporation Provide Global Trade Compliance training to cross-functional teams, including Quality, Logistics, Supply Chain, Sales, IT, and Engineering.
Act as change catalyst and drive global process improvements.

Strong working knowledge of U.S. and EU customs laws, Harmonized Tariff Classification, and application of export/import trade regulations
Hands on experience developing, implementing, monitoring, and continuously improving internal trade compliance program, policies, and procedures.
Detailed past involvement with customs audits, binding rulings, and import/export transactions
Experience executing and managing Foreign Trade Zone compliance in USA
Experience working with a wide range of brokers, forwarders, couriers, vendors, 3Pls.
Collaborative experience working with key partners throughout the organization, specifically logistics, distribution, merchandising, production, product development/sourcing and finance.
Strong investigative and persuasive writing skills
Ability to communicate complex issues, risks, and opportunities in an easily understood and concise manner, with specific and complete information; Communicates 360 degrees, altering communication styles to meet audience needs.
Strong ability to facilitate process improvements at all levels of the organization.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or 7+ years related experience and training preferred.
Certified licensed Customs Broker is a plus.

Analytical & Investigative Skills
- Competence in researching classification rulings, tariff codes, and regulatory changes. Strong investigative skills for resolving compliance issues and supporting audits.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Vendor Management
- Experience working with brokers, freight forwarders, couriers, 3PLs, and internal stakeholders (e.g., logistics, sourcing, finance). Ability to influence partners and align compliance practices across the organization.
Communication & Documentation
- Skilled in preparing persuasive, detailed compliance reports, audit responses, and training materials. Ability to clearly communicate complex regulatory requirements to both technical and non-technical audiences. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
