Position Summary
The
Enrichment Instructor
is responsible for designing and leading engaging activities in Academic, STEAM, and/or Sports and Recreation at their program site. This role ensures that all programming aligns with YMCA curriculum guidelines and Youth Development Principles, while fostering student engagement, learning, and a positive environment.
The Instructor collaborates with the Site Coordinator and site-specific staff as needed to deliver high-quality programming, procure necessary materials, and support day-to-day logistics.
ASP Program dates: August 18, 2025 - June 13, 2026
Job Responsibilities
Lesson Planning & Instruction Collaborate with other instructors to develop lesson plans that prepare students for showcases. Deliver relevant, engaging, and rigorous lessons that enhance student learning. Classroom & Behavior Management
Maintain a safe and productive learning environment through consistent classroom and behavior management strategies. Supervise students during class time, breaks, and transitions to ensure their safety and engagement. Maintain attendance records and support classroom procedures. Professional Development & Collaboration
Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required. Work Environment & Physical Demands
The work environment for this position includes both indoor and outdoor settings, with frequent interaction with youth in active and dynamic program spaces. Physical demands include standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 25 pounds, as well as participating in physical activities with students. The role requires adaptability to a variety of environments and the ability to respond quickly to the needs of the program and its participants.

The Enrichment Instructor position offers a compensation range of $22.00 - $30.00 per hour. This rate is based on salary benchmarking for similar roles and is aligned with grant fund approvals and requirements for the position.
Qualifications
Must be 18 years or older. Availability on Saturdays. Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback. Strong relationship-building skills with staff, community members, and families. Experience working with elementary or middle school youth. Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills. Effective communication skills. Commitment to the program's goals and values. Preferred Qualifications
48 college units or an Associate's degree. Two or more years of experience working with youth. Bilingual skills in Spanish, Cantonese, or Mandarin.
