Position Summary
We are seeking a
hands-on Automation Engineer
to join our team and drive innovation in manufacturing automation, tooling, and fixtures. This role will be responsible for assessing needs, designing solutions, and implementing automation technologies to support and scale ClearPath's production of medical devices. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment, bringing strong technical skills and a passion for building efficient, reliable systems.
Key Responsibilities
Assess production processes to identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements. Design, develop, and implement automated systems, fixtures, and tooling to support manufacturing operations. Program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC-based control systems and related automation technologies. Integrate and deploy collaborative robots (cobots) for manufacturing applications. Design fixturing and automation components using SolidWorks. Utilize tool room equipment to fabricate, assemble, and validate automation solutions. Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, quality, and production teams to ensure solutions meet technical and regulatory requirements. Provide training and support for production staff on new equipment and automation processes. Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering (or equivalent experience). Minimum
2-3 years of focused experience in automation engineering
within a manufacturing environment. Hands-on experience with
PLC programming and core automation principles . Preferable experience with
cobot integration
(e.g., UR, FANUC, or similar platforms). Proficiency in
SolidWorks
for fixturing and tooling design. Practical experience building automation systems using tool room equipment. Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and project management skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, regulated environment. Why Join ClearPath Medical?
