This Business Analyst (BA) (or sometimes called Business System Analyst (BSA) role will focus on Long Term Care (LTC) Rate Action development initiatives, driving change through technology. This Business Analyst role will enable change in the organizational context, by defining needs and recommending solutions that deliver value to stakeholders. What you will be doing: Assisting the Product Owner in Reporting Analysis including identifying Inclusion or Exclusion Criteria or Data Trending of policy/agent data through the running of reports or executing queries (SQL) Assisting the Product Manager or Product Owner in the creation of Epic initiation documentation (i.e. Epic Charter) Generating Data Queries/Reports for Team Members wishing to create a test case that includes a policy that supports a particular Story in the Backlog Validation: Assisting the Product Owner in the Validation of the creation Business Stories and Acceptance Criteria Assisting Operations, the Product Owner or other end-customers in the review of Test Output (i.e. Screens, Transaction or Letter Files) Assist the team in assuring documentation completeness for Audit purposes according to the define guidelines for the PMO software lifecycle. Technical Story Creation: Writing Technical based Stories (including Defects and System Health) and works with the Product Owner to filter within priority. Creates Screen Mock-ups to help others understand possibilities. Actively contribute to the following: Definition of Ready (DOR), Definition of Done (DOD), Team Norms/Working Agreement Design Document Initial Epic Documentation (i.e. Product Charter) Story Expansion Acceptance Criteria Expansion Test Bed Creation Analytical Reporting Process Documentation Training Materials (if required) What you bring: College Degree (Associates/Bachelors) and/or relevant professional experience 3+Years' experience in creating business requirements documentation and user stories Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to tailor communications to differing audiences including Senior Management and Technical Developers Familiarity and experience with software development life cycle methodologies Strong analytical ability and problem-solving skills Strong organization and prioritization skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines while working independently Strong intellectual curiosity and analytical ability with a desire to develop an in-depth understanding of complex issues Proficient in MS Office tools including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Strong elicitation and listening Skills Nice to have: LTC insurance product knowledge and familiarity with Customer Service and Rate Actions 3+Years' Experience in creating business requirement artifacts, such as Process Maps, Data Flow Diagrams, Use Cases, Activity Diagrams or Test Scenarios Familiarity and experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum and/or Kanban) Certified or pursuing Business Analysis Professional certification or Agile Scrum related certification.
