Job Summary
This position is responsible for site-level planning and accounting activities that support the operations of the plant / mine, as well as administrative and human resource administration tasks that help with the safe, reliable and efficient operations of the site. The role liaises with many functions within corporate and other plant operations. This position may also be responsible for other functions and support multiple sites.
Job Description
Key Accountabilities
In conjunction with site manager, coordinate development, monitoring and reporting of plant O&M and capital budgets (including 5-year budget planning)
Consolidate site-level long range and annual forecasts
Monitor budget vs. actuals and provide monthly variance analysis and explanations
Support monthly close processing by completing reclassifications at the department or project level, recording O&M accruals and plant-specific journal entries in the general ledger
Implement centrally-set accounting policies and procedures
Support ad-hoc plant analysis as needed
Liaise with central Accounting & Planning on issues such as plant requests and monthly close process
Support health & safety procedures by maintaining employee emergency contact listings, holding regular safety meetings, coordinating annual wellness programs
Manage P-cards and petty cash
Working with Supply Chain to: conduct inventory cycle counts and reviews, coordinate receiving of inventory, ensure VMI is restocked, review Start Center work assignments, conduct storeroom inspections, and identify and resolve inventory discrepancies and PO mismatches in invoiced materials and services as needed
Schedule travel, process and expense reports for management as needed
Coordinate with IT, facilities, housekeeping, and security on procurement of IT equipment, janitorial services, security procedures, badging requirements, etc.
Plant communications with employees (e.g., training and events coordination, corporate policy questions, maintain bulletin board and email distribution lists) and to the external community (e.g., liaison for charitable organizations, plant events)
Assist with HR administrative tasks such as new hire process, exit process, payroll issues, work injuries/FMLA/STD/LTD, HR communications, etc
Maintain adequate inventory of office supplies.
All other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements
Previous supervisory experience preferred
Proficient with computer hardware and software (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
Demonstrated ability to be reliable, trustworthy, highly organized and detailed-oriented, and consistently display the highest levels of integrity
Minimum three (3) years experience in an analytical field;accounting or finance preferred
High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
