Therapist
to join our innovative
Diversion Program , designed to support youth at risk of out-of-home placement due to court involvement. This impactful program serves families with children aged
12 to 18
across
Suffolk County , helping them address challenges such as: Family conflict and communication issues School truancy and runaway behaviors Mental health and substance use concerns What makes this program stand out is its integration of
Multidimensional Family Therapy (MDFT) -a powerful, evidence-based model proven to strengthen family relationships and improve youth outcomes.
Comprehensive MDFT training
is provided
at no cost
and takes place
during regular work hours , offering a valuable professional development opportunity.
As a therapist in this program, you'll provide
short-term, intensive, in-home family therapy , focused on:
Strengthening family bonds Building effective problem-solving skills Connecting families to a supportive, community-based network of care Join a mission-driven team working to keep youth safely at home and thriving.

Minimum qualifications to be HFY's next Therapist include:
License Required
(LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMFT) limited permits are welcome Spanish and English-speaking
preferred 1 Year experience working with youth is preferred, and
Hope For Youth will train in the MDFT model . Valid NYS Driver's License in good standing Excellent written, verbal and computer skills Flexible schedule to accommodate program Participate in treatment team, case review, and other meetings Work collaboratively with referral resources and any other agency working with the family and the court Work as a part of an interdisciplinary team Travel as needed Knowledge of child serving systems Physical Requirements: ongoing access to reliable vehicle and driving own vehicle for work (mileage reimbursed), attending home visits and/or working from various HFY locations, and conferences as needed read/write reports and log entries, walking/standing, bending/stooping, kneeling/squatting, climbing stairs, reaching overhead, repetitive wrist/finger movements, routinely lift up to 10lbs and occasionally up to 50lbs (associated with office work).
This opportunity is being offered at a salary set by the county that is based upon a 35-hour work week involving a combination of remote, office and field work. The hours are flexible around the needs of the clients.
