Job Summary/Basic Function
The Allied Health Simulation and Clinical Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the clinical, lab and simulation environment for the Allied Health Divisions at the Escanaba and Iron Mountain Campus locations. This position will coordinate with Allied Health Division faculty and staff, and IT to manage laboratory (lab) scheduling, equipment technology, inventory and other resources in order to develop and deliver a variety of training and scenarios for the benefit of students and faculty in the Allied Health Division. Additional functions include assisting the Division as a whole in meeting goals for simulation and clinical site coordination, assisting individual faculty in the development and coordination of a variety of clinical scenarios and student skill evaluation/workshop sessions to meet course and/or program specific learning outcomes as needed.
Minimum Qualifications Associate degree in Nursing Current Michigan License as a registered nurse or eligibility for Michigan licensure Minimum two years' experience in practice as a registered nurse (or equivalent experience in healthcare field) Current AHA BLS certification Solid interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing Demonstrated knowledge of using information technology (software and hardware systems) Ability to learn new equipment and update skills to adapt to changing technology Ability to learn and apply logic and analytical skills problem solving skills in order to resolve issues related to simulation equipment and technology Ability to adapt to changes in role and schedule in order to best meet the needs of students, faculty, organization and community Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in education Experience with Laerdel and other simulation equipment Experience with providing education in lab environment Experience with development and delivery of simulation scenarios Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing Previous experience in nursing education Advanced certifications such as: ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, and NRP

Work Schedule This position will primarily work Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, but may require evening and/or weekend hours.
Supervision Exercised
Supervises Simulation Technician.

Works under the general supervision of the Dean of Nursing and Allied Health.

Research, review and make recommendations to the division regarding use of simulation for consideration into curricular or program changes

Coordinate maintenance and upgrades to software and hardware on a scheduled basis with IT to maintain any required manufacturer documentation for appropriate lab equipment

Collaborate with IT to provide integrated use of audiovisual instructional materials and software as appropriate in all related simulation areas such as classroom, clinic, and lab

Coordinate with manufacturers, vendors, faculty and any other pertinent individuals to accomplish repair of lab equipment and ordering of supplies to maintain inventory as needed

Assume primary responsibility for housekeeping, maintenance and security of lab environment, including all supplies, technology and equipment

Ensure lab equipment is up to date and reflective of current practice

Collaborate with faculty to develop protocols to facilitate both faculty and student use of the lab for practice and remediation of clinical skills and/or learning outcomes

Coordinate with faculty to maintain simulation lab and access to support student success

Maintain involvement in regional and national simulation user's initiatives

Work with community partners and healthcare organizations to develop enhanced lab and simulation trainings

Maintain proper record keeping to track the donation of any consumable or other equipment or resources received for use in lab
