Database Administrator
to join the Systems and Database Administration (SADA) team. This contract-to-hire position is responsible for enhancing, configuring, deploying, and maintaining database systems in support of a complex IT environment. \n\n \n Position Details \n\n

\n\n \n Key Responsibilities \n\n
\n\t
\n\t Administer and maintain relational database systems, including DB2 and Microsoft SQL Server. \n\t \n\t
\n\t Plan, install, configure, and upgrade database instances to ensure performance and availability. \n\t \n\t
\n\t Design and implement enterprise-level database architectures with high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery. \n\t \n\t
\n\t Develop and enforce database security policies, access controls, and encryption. \n\t \n\t
\n\t Monitor performance, analyze metrics, identify bottlenecks, and optimize queries. \n\t \n\t
\n\t Automate routine tasks using scripting (Python, Ansible, Bash) to improve efficiency. \n\t \n\t
\n\t Execute and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies. \n\t \n\t
\n\t Collaborate with developers to support performance tuning and database access requirements. \n\t \n\t
\n\t Manage bulk data loading processes to ensure accurate and timely ingestion. \n\t \n\t
\n\t Implement and utilize monitoring tools to proactively detect and resolve issues. \n\t \n\t
\n\t Document configurations, procedures, troubleshooting steps, and standards. \n\t \n\t
\n\t Research and recommend emerging database tools and technologies. \n\t \n\t
\n\t Provide after-hours support as needed. \n\t \n
\n\n \n Minimum Qualifications \n\n
\n\t
\n\t 8+ years of relational database administration experience. \n\t \n\t
\n\t 2+ years administering
DB2
databases. \n\t \n\t
\n\t 2+ years administering
Microsoft SQL Server
databases. \n\t \n\t
\n\t Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field. \n\t \n\t
\n\t Strong understanding of relational and distributed database management. \n\t \n\t
\n\t Proven experience in planning, installing, configuring, and maintaining database instances. \n\t \n\t
\n\t Expertise in enterprise-level DB architectures, including HA and scalability. \n\t \n\t
\n\t Hands-on disaster recovery planning and execution. \n\t \n\t
\n\t Proficiency in physical database and schema design (3rd normal form). \n\t \n\t
\n\t Experience with automation and scripting (Python, Ansible, Bash). \n\t \n\t
\n\t Knowledge of monitoring and performance analysis tools. \n\t \n\t
\n\t Skilled in tuning poorly performing queries. \n\t \n\t
\n\t Experience with structured data bulk loading. \n\t \n\t
\n\t Familiarity with database security best practices. \n\t \n\t
\n\t Strong collaboration skills with developers and cross-functional teams. \n\t \n\t

\n\t Knowledge of change data capture and replication (e.g., IBM Infosphere). \n\t \n\t
\n\t Familiarity with JSON/document databases (Couchbase, MongoDB). \n\t \n\t
\n\t Experience with other RDBMS (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MariaDB). \n\t \n\t
