All positions require that the applicant be a resident of Wyandotte county or willing to relocate within (12) months from the date of hire. As a condition of employment all employees must pass a post offer physical examination and drug screen. And submit proof of identity and employment eligibility.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsibilities include using a strengths-based model of community case management with youth and families who have come to the attention of the juvenile justice system. Assesses criminogenic needs and develops supervision plans to help reduce the youths' risk of future law violations. Visits youth and families in their homes, at school, placements, and community-based programs. Collaborates with police, court, school personnel, and service providers. Provides evidence-based programming to youth and families that target specific needs such as anger control, family functioning, pro-social thinking skills, job skills, and more. Transports youth to and from programming, community service, appointments, and more. Enters information into a state-maintained database and checks information to ensure accuracy. Prepares a variety of reports, collects urinalysis samples, prepares for and attends court hearings. This position reports to the Intensive Supervision Officer Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Sociology, Psychology, or a closely related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Working knowledge of the juvenile justice system. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. Knowledge of supervisory principles and court systems is preferred. Bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not required.

Salary Range:

$26.74-$35.76/hr.
