Hudson Regional Hospital
Duties:
Answer 9-1-1 emergency calls via the 9-1-1 lines. Screens 9-1-1 emergency calls following New Jersey Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) cards. Inputs call data into the Computer Automated Dispatch (CAD) System immediately. Assesses the need for additional services and makes the appropriate requests. Dispatches emergency crew based on location of ambulance. Communicates via two-way radio with crews, supervisors, police, etc. Remains in constant radio communication with all crews, including safety/status checks. Answer non-emergency/adminstrative calls via the administrative/hospital lines. Schedules BLS and SCTU non-emergency transports. Communicates with case workers and nurse to schedule appointments and transports. Notifies a supervisor of any deficiencies regarding maintenance, equipment, or supplies. Ability to read a map, knowledge of State, County and other public roadways. Insures all policies and procedures are followed on each response. Ability to establish effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and public. Knowledge of NJ Administrative Code Statue 8:40. Knowledge of other standards, rules, regulations, and policies related to EMS.
EDUCATION + EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: One Year (1) EMT/EMD experience preferred
CREDENTIALS + QUALIFICATIONS: NJ EMT/EMP-P Certified American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Emergency Medical Dispatcher Certification HazMat Training at the awareness level or higher NIMS 700 ICS-100 APCO Basic Telecommuter or NAED Emergency Telecommuter Certification CBRNE Awareness
