Schedule: Full Time Shift: Rotating schedule of two days on, two days off (Monday-Thursday 8am-8pm), split Fridays (usually 8am-2pm or 2pm-8pm), alternate weekends (required to work every other weekend, hours are 8am-5pm on Saturdays and Sundays), and some holidays. Locations available throughout Central Florida. Your Role: As a Medical Assistant, you will report to the Practice Manager and work under the supervision of the Providers. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver exceptional patient care by performing various clinical tasks while adhering to organizational guidelines and ensuring patient safety. Your role is vital to maintaining organization and optimizing patient flow. Your Contributions: Demonstrate AdventHealth's core values: Keep Me Safe, Make It Easy, Love Me, and Own It. Enhance customer service by creating a positive patient experience. Ensure accurate documentation of all procedures and assessments as per departmental policies. Conduct patient assessments during check-ins, document relevant medical information and vital signs, and look for signs of abuse or neglect. Administer treatments and medications as prescribed by the provider, and be ready to respond to clinical emergencies and triage situations. Perform diagnostic tests such as EKGs, spirometry, audiometry, and more. Conduct forensic testing per DOT and Florida Drug Free Workplace Guidelines. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. 1 year of relevant work experience OR graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program with externship, OR 6 months of relevant experience within an AdventHealth facility. Current certification from recognized medical assistant programs (e.g., AAMA, AMCA, AMT, NAHP, NCCT, NHA, AAH). Active certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association. Maintenance of BAT and Drug Screen certifications post-hire. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience as a Medical Assistant. Experience in urgent care or emergency department settings.
