Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring at least 2 years of LDRP and nursery experience and current BLS and NRP certifications.
Responsibilities Work in an LDRP and nursery setting within a hospital environment Care for labor and delivery, antepartum, and gynecological patients including those with gestational hypertension, diabetes, and multi-birth pregnancies Unit performs circumcisions, hearing screens, newborn screens, general admissions, C-sections, and labor inductions Night shift positions available with options for 3x12 hour or 4x12 hour shifts Required to work at least one Friday, one Saturday, and one Sunday shift in every 4-week schedule No on-call requirements Current average of 140-160 deliveries per month Staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 6-7 nurses, and 1 scrub per shift with adjustments based on census Uses Epic EMR, with experience preferred Responsibilities include providing comprehensive care for laboring patients, newborns, and postpartum mothers Team includes in-house physicians part-time, and on-call for other hours Must complete onboarding modules prior to start, which may take up to 5-6 hours Clinicians cannot work more than 1 year consecutively as a traveler and must take a 6-month break before returning Travelers are expected to adhere to hospital protocols for testing and orientation
Requirements Active RN license required Minimum 2 years of recent LDRP and nursery experience required Current BLS and NRP certifications required Epic EMR experience preferred Level II nursery experience, circulate, scrub, and triage experience preferred Candidates must reside outside a 70-mile radius from the facility Must complete OSHA respirator clearance and be clean shaven for FIT testing prior to start Two professional references from a supervisor within the last 2 years required
