Description

The City of Geneva is seeking a forward-thinking individual to lead operations at the City's state-of-the-art reverse osmosis water treatment plant and ensure the exceptional quality of one of the City's most robust utilities. The Supervisor of Water Treatment and Supply reports directly to the Superintendent of Water and Wastewater and is responsible for overseeing all operations of the City's water treatment plant. Primary responsibilities include supervising, planning, scheduling, and directing routine, pre-planned, and emergency work at the plant. Examples of Duties Including but not limited to: Plan, direct, schedule, and supervise daily, pre-planned and emergency operations of the water treatment plant, wells, and water towers. Develop daily work plans for operators and manage SCADA operations, ensure safety compliance of all standard operating procedures and work performed. Oversee water production to ensure compliance with all IEPA and federal standards; prepare and submit regulatory reports, verify accuracy of data and ensure timely submittal. Manage water quality sampling, treatment, and maintenance of chemical feed equipment. Oversee water meter operations, including installation, replacement, testing and troubleshooting. Update and manage the inventory database. Supervise, train, evaluate, and schedule staff; issue corrective action when necessary. Assist in the development and monitoring of the operating and capital budgets; manage purchasing within City code. Manage the Cross-Connection Control Program and ensure compliance with annual inspections. Provide customer service, respond to water quality inquiries, issue public notifications, and conduct plant tours. Respond to emergency on-call and assist with snow removal operations as necessary. Associate's degree, or equivalent credits, with an emphasis in chemistry or related field, Minimum seven years of water treatment facility experience, including progressively responsible duties An Illinois Class A Water Operator Certification Valid Illinois CDL Class B are required.

Supplemental Information

The hours for this position are 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. Work is primarily performed indoors at the water treatment plant, but there are times where work will be performed outdoors in variable climate conditions. This position is subject to emergency and after-hours callback, primarily on a rotating basis. The pay range for this position is $43.66 - $58.94 per hour, with an estimated starting salary of up to $47.48 per hour, depending on qualifications.
