As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting blood and other specimens from patients for laboratory testing, ensuring proper handling, labeling, and documentation. You'll provide critical support to the diagnostic process while delivering compassionate and professional care.
As a Phlebotomist, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks: Draw blood from patients using venipuncture, capillary, or arterial collection techniques
Properly label and process specimens for laboratory analysis
Verify patient identity and confirm test orders before collection
Maintain accurate documentation and specimen tracking
Prepare and maintain phlebotomy trays, supplies, and equipment
Follow infection control, safety, and privacy protocols
Provide excellent customer service and ease patient anxiety during collection
Transport specimens to the appropriate lab or storage area as needed
Assist with patient data entry and clerical tasks when required
Support cleanliness and organization in the phlebotomy area
The ideal candidate must have two years of experience, preferred as a Phlebotomist. Additionally, they should possess a current BLS certification and hold the CPT National Certification. State licensure may be required.
Phlebotomists should have excellent manual dexterity, be able to stand or walk for long periods, and maintain professionalism in high-volume or high-stress environments.
