Prep Cook Event Dates: March 28, 2025 - May 14, 2025 Start times vary. We offer Daytime and Evening shifts. Wednesday - Sunday scheduled - mandatory Primary Responsibilities: Prepare cold and hot sections of the kitchen service line; Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes, using various kitchen utensils and equipment; Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure observance of safe, sanitary food-handling practices; Carve and trim meats such as beef, veal, ham, pork, and lamb for hot or cold service or sandwiches; Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers, and a variety of other kitchen equipment; Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to ensure a smooth service period; Follow proper plate presentation and garnish setup for all dishes; Assist others in closing the kitchen and participate in the teardown and setup of the kitchen; The Ideal Candidate Will: Have 2 years of hands-on kitchen experience or an effective combination of education and experience; Possess culinary skills and techniques for preparing small and large quantities of food; Be able to handle and prepare a variety of raw and cooked foods; Have a strong understanding and compliance with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures; Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation area including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, saut burners, convection oven, flat top range, and refrigeration equipment; Possess a cooking degree (an asset); Work well under pressure and take direction; Be a motivated team player with good initiative and problem-solving abilities; Assist in other areas as needed and assigned by another Kitchen Manager and Head Chef; Be available to work 5 days a week, including weekends, early mornings, and late nights during the entire city run; Have reasonable knowledge of English and the language of the Market; Physical Demands: This job may require extended periods of walking, standing, bending, lifting, twisting, and kneeling for up to 8 hours.
