Solution Engineering Leader
Verily is a subsidiary of Alphabet that is using a data-driven approach to change the way people manage their health and the way healthcare is delivered. Launched from Google X in 2015, our purpose is to bring the promise of precision health to everyone, every day. We are focused on generating and activating data from a variety of sources, including clinical, social, behavioral and the real world, to arrive at the best solutions for a person based on a comprehensive view of the evidence. Our unique expertise and capabilities in technology, data science and healthcare enable the entire healthcare ecosystem to drive better health outcomes. Responsibilities
This role will support the Solution Engineering leader in driving strategic alignment, standardization and operational excellence for Solution delivery. A force multiplier, enabling the Solutions/Eng. leadership, and working closely with xFN partners will build a Solutions toolset and stitch Verily's platform and product capabilities in valuable Solutions that address customer needs. Pre-sales Solutions Consulting:
The role involves ensuring smooth, on-time delivery of solutions by aligning various Verily teams, specifically the xFN teams. This includes providing pre-sales support for closing deals, responding to RFPs, managing dependencies, and acting as a liaison between product engineering and solutions teams to ensure architectural alignment. The person in this role also helps with sales-related materials and tracking solution deployment status. Driving Standardization and Repeatability:
A key function is to develop common, reusable solutions and services to drive repeatability and reduce custom efforts. This involves creating a central repository for solutions, components, and best practices, as well as developing standardized playbooks and reference architectures. The goal is to significantly reduce the time required to onboard new customers. Operational Management and Efficiency:
The role is responsible for improving business processes and operational efficiency. This includes managing the intake process for new solution requests, establishing clear requirements, and aligning stakeholders. A central part of this is designing and managing a prioritization framework to effectively allocate resources based on strategic priorities. Solution Lifecycle Management:
The role provides architecture and technical expertise to the entire lifecycle of a solution, from initial commitment through ongoing customer support. This includes participating in contract and legal reviews, and ensuring that all ongoing commitments and service level agreements (SLAs) to customers are met. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer or data science, engineering, and or life science field with 10+ years of experience in developing technologies in HCLS. Demonstrated success in engaging with customers to understand their needs, plan strategic initiatives, and deliver outcomes that exceed their expectations. Proven track record in solution architecture, and delivery, planning and stakeholder management. Experience building and deploying scalable solutions on cloud computing platforms such as GCP or AWS. Proven experience designing and implementing AI/ML solutions, including model development, training, and deployment, with a deep understanding of frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar. Preferred Qualifications Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing diverse stakeholders across technical, and commercial functions. Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and rapidly changing startup environment. A breadth of experience with creating actionable insights from diverse health data modalities: omics, biomarkers, diagnostics, imaging, claims, SDOH, etc. and familiarity with collection methods and provenance.
