The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design, build, and delivery of custom automation systems. This role assists in ensuring all systems and projects are completed on time, within budget and meet specific customer requirements
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Design, modify or improve electrical schematics, equipment, or systems for industrial automation.· Perform a wide range of engineering tasks by operating computer-assisted design or engineering software and equipment.· Confer with customers, engineers, and others to discuss existing or potential engineering products or projects.· Ensure that designs conform to standards and customer requirements by preparing electrical systems designs, bills of material, technical drawings, safety functionality and industrial network topologies.· Establish electrical build and installation standards or specifications.· Ensure compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements by directing or coordinating installation, build, documentation, support, or testing activities.· Write reports and compile data regarding existing and potential electrical engineering projects and studies.· Prepare specifications for purchases of electrical equipment and materials.· Estimate electrical material, labor, and build costs for budget preparation.· Work with machine assembly team to ensure accurate tagging and labelling information is available to them.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field.· Proficient in designing electrical schematics (NEMA style) using AutoCAD Electrical.· EPLAN P8 V2.9 or greater experience is a plus.· Familiarity with NFPA-79 is required.· Familiarity with UL508A, ISO 13849-1, RIA 15.06 is a plus.· Prior PLC / HMI programming experience is desirable.· Prior factory automation experience is a plus but not required.· BS in Electrical/Electronic Engineering is a plus.· Ability to read and interpret documents such as instructions and procedure manuals.· A strong attention to detail and a well-organized individual are a must.· Familiar with ERP systems.
