Job Description Network Specialist (Greater Phoenix, AZ)
Position Overview
We are seeking a versatile
Network Specialist
to join our team in the Greater Phoenix area. This individual will act as a true
network jack-of-all-trades , with hands-on responsibility for
network deployments, migrations, troubleshooting, and consulting engagements . A strong focus will be on
Cisco Meraki solutions , with additional exposure to
NetApp storage platforms, SonicWall, and other enterprise networking technologies . The ideal candidate has a balance of
technical expertise and customer-facing skills , able to deliver solutions in a professional, approachable manner while collaborating with peers and client stakeholders. Primary Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain network equipment, including
Cisco Meraki and SonicWall
devices. Plan, configure, and deploy
Meraki solutions
(firewalls, switches, wireless access points, SD-WAN). Lead and support
network migrations
(LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, and cloud-integrated infrastructures). Provide
network consulting services , including assessments, recommendations, and best practices for scalability, security, and performance. Administer and support
NetApp storage systems , ensuring integration with network and enterprise infrastructure. Maintain and patch
client network infrastructure , ensuring compliance with system standards. Troubleshoot, resolve, and escalate complex network issues across Cisco, Meraki, and multi-vendor platforms. Manage
internal and client-facing IP space . Monitor internal and client networks proactively, responding to issues and outages within defined SLAs. Update and maintain
network documentation, diagrams, and runbooks . Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system integrations, application rollouts, and enterprise infrastructure projects. Communicate with client stakeholders on project status, performance, and issue resolution. Provide
on-site support
for clients and participate in a rotating
on-call schedule
as needed. Mentor junior team members and assist end-users with technical guidance. Required Skills & Qualifications
35 years of professional experience as a
Network Specialist / Network Engineer / Deployment Technician . Hands-on experience with
Cisco Meraki deployments and migrations
(firewalls, switching, wireless, SD-WAN). Experience with
NetApp administration and integration . Strong knowledge of
network fundamentals : TCP/IP, VLANs, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), VPNs, NAT, QoS. Experience with
network security technologies : firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint integrations. Knowledge of
Windows Server administration, Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP . Familiarity with
cloud networking , particularly
Azure ; AWS or GCP a plus. Proficiency with
network monitoring and management tools
(Meraki Dashboard, SolarWinds, PRTG, Cisco DNA, etc.). Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage directly with clients, stakeholders, and leadership teams. Ability to
multi-task, adapt quickly to change, and manage priorities
in a fast-paced environment. Self-motivated, with excellent organizational and documentation abilities. Preferred / Nice-to-Have
Certifications : CompTIA Network, Cisco CCNA/CCST, Meraki ECMS1/2, CMNA, Security, or equivalent. Knowledge of scripting/automation tools (Python, Ansible, PowerShell). Experience with additional storage networking (SAN, NAS, VMware integrations). Exposure to IT service management tools (ServiceNow, ConnectWise, or similar).
