Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Program Institutional Review Board (IRB) Liaison Employment Status: Full time (29-40 Hrs) Type of Employment: Staff Location: ASU-Jonesboro Proposed Salary Range: Commensurate with Experience Closing: 9/6/25 Position Summary: Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Program Institutional Review Board (IRB) Liaison Duties & Responsibilities: Institutional Review Board for the Protection of Human Subjects in Research Function: In accordance with federal law and university policy, the IRB is charged with overseeing compliance with federal regulations related to human subjects research. Membership: Membership of the IRB is governed by U.S. Department of Health and Human Services regulation 45 CFR 46.107. The IRB is a standing committee of A-State. The IRB is not a shared governance committee. Coordinates implementation and management of institutional policies and procedures related to student/faculty conflicts of interest, responsible conduct of research, and misconduct in research. In coordination with the Director of Research Compliance, advises faculty and University administrators on regulatory requirements related to research. Contributes to the management of long-range planning projects to address both current and anticipated needs of the compliance program/requirements. Presents and/or trains IRB regulations and steps to completing an IRB study to DNP students, project chairs, and course faculty. Maintains current and relevant information on the IRB Instructional Document and/or templates used in the IRB study. Reviews all students' IRB studies and provides timely feedback to students and project chairs. Certifies as a Co-PI, along with the project chair, who remains the faculty advisor on the student's IRB study. Liaison between the Institutional Review Board and the DNP Program. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to be a strong leader in the Doctor of Nursing Practice role Ability to work independently in evaluating IRB studies Ability to be detail-oriented Ability to communicate clearly orally and in writing Ability to be strong in computer skills in a variety of software programs Ability to work with students and faculty in a timely manner through the IRB process General Days/Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Additional hours as requested and/or needed Regular and reliable attendance Preferred Qualifications: At least two (2) years' experience as a DNP, preferred At least two (2) years' experience in an advanced practice role, preferred At least one (1) year of experience as an IRB reviewer of studies, preferred Minimum Qualifications: An earned Master's degree (terminal doctorate degree preferred); Business, Public Administration, Social Work, Education, or a related field. A demonstrated work history in research compliance or any compliance field. Additional considerations: An earned Master of Public Administration or a Juris Doctor.
