We are seeking a highly experienced QA Manager / Lead to oversee all quality assurance activities across our software products, with special focus on the retail domain, mobile platforms, automation, manual testing, and working closely with clients in a consulting-style relationship. The ideal candidate will set the QA vision, build and lead a high-performing team, and ensure delivery of high-quality, reliable software. Key Responsibilities (1) Strategy & Planning Develop and drive a comprehensive QA strategy encompassing manual, automated, mobile, and web testing, specifically tailored to retail/e-commerce environments. Define QA processes, methodologies, standards (including test plans, test cases, regression, performance, usability, etc.). Establish KPIs and quality metrics (bug rates, test coverage, defect turn-around, customer-reported issues, etc.) and track/report them. (2) Team Leadership & Management Lead, mentor, and grow a team of QA engineers / testers (manual + automation) and test leads. Manage resource planning, capacity, hiring, performance management, professional development. Foster a culture of quality, continuous improvement, collaboration, innovation. (3) Automation & Tools Architect/oversee development of test automation frameworks suited for web/mobile/retail pipelines. Maintain and evolve automation suites, CI/CD integration of tests, and ensure automation adds value (reliability, speed). Select, implement, and maintain QA tools (test management, defect tracking, mobile device labs/emulators, performance tools, etc.). (4) Manual / Exploratory Testing Ensure robust manual testing coverage (functional, regression, exploratory, UI/UX) especially for complex workflows and edge cases. Oversee testing across multiple environments (web, mobile, possibly in-store hardware/gadgets if applicable). (5) Mobile Testing Ensure testing on a variety of mobile devices/platforms (iOS, Android), real devices & emulators, handling OS version fragmentation, screen sizes, performance, network variability. (6) Retail/E-Commerce Domain Expertise Preferred Understand retail workflows (online shopping, POS systems, inventory, pricing, promotions, checkout, returns, etc.). Ensure testing accounts for retail-specific challenges (high traffic events, seasonal peaks, third-party integrations, payment gateways, fraud checks, etc.). (7) Client Management / Consulting Act as a point of contact with clients / stakeholders: understanding their requirements, managing expectations, giving updates on quality, risks, timelines. Conduct QA consulting: review client requirements, propose QA best practices, guide technical trade-offs, advise on testability, performance, scalability. (8) Release Management and Cross-functional Collaboration Collaborate with Product, Development, UX, Operations to align quality goals. Participate in release planning; ensure that quality gates are passed before go-live. Work with DevOps/Infrastructure on CI/CD, environment stability, test environments. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master’s or relevant advanced degree preferred. 7–10+ years in QA roles, including substantial experience in a leadership / managerial capacity. Deep experience in both manual and automated testing. Hands-on with automation tools (e.g. Selenium, Appium, or similar). Proven experience in mobile testing (apps, platforms, device management, performance under mobile constraints). Strong background in retail / e-commerce systems and related domain challenges. Experience in client-facing roles or consulting: able to translate client requirements into QA plans, manage expectations, drive communication. Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile/Scrum, DevOps, CI/CD. Excellent leadership, communication, collaboration and negotiation skills. Strong analytical/problem-solving skills; ability to manage ambiguity and make good trade‐offs. Experience with performance & load testing, scalability testing, security testing. Familiarity with tools for test management, defect tracking (JIRA, TestRail, etc.). Experience in retail-specific technologies: POS systems, inventory management, payment / gateway integrations, 3rd-party Marketplace integrations. Additional Information Duration: 3-month contract with the possibility of renewal depending on business needs and performance. Type of contract: C2C or W2 hourly. Rate: $50/hr - $65/hr. Location: Frisco, TX. 2 days a week, onsite. Requirements: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future. ***
