Northrop Grumman Space SystemsLaunch and Missile Defense Systems offers an excellent opportunity for a Sr Principal Engineer Systems Global SE Interface Engineer (25-467) to join our team of skilled and diverse professionals. This position, based in Colorado Springs, CO, or Huntsville, AL, plays a vital role in supporting the U.S. President, Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels. This position does not offer relocation support and requires on-site work with no remote options. Position Overview

The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a vital part of the Missile Defense System. It provides a crucial operational platform that allows the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and tactical levels to systematically plan missile defense operations, monitor battle progress, and actively control networked sensors and weapon systems to achieve global and regional mission goals. C2BMC offers a layered missile defense capability, delivering an optimized response to threats across all ranges and flight phases. It functions as a force multiplier by connecting, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations both worldwide and locally to improve overall performance. Additionally, C2BMC is a key component of all ground and flight tests that verify and demonstrate the missile defense system's current and future capabilities. The Interface Engineer will oversee the development of ICDs and IDDs. This involves establishing new interfaces between external components, including sensors, and other Command and Control Systems. The engineer will ensure that the ICDs and IDDs meet the appropriate standards required by the program. Additionally, the engineer is expected to develop various behavioral diagrams to understand and document requirements. The engineer will create detailed requirements in DOORS to ensure a clear understanding for the implementation teams. This position will be assigned to the C2BMC Systems Engineering Team within SEIT. An Interface Engineer is a Systems Engineer and will occasionally be called upon to support non-interface systems engineering activities. Essential Functions Must understand the systems engineering process and its principles, along with over 9 years of professional experience in Systems Engineering Must have a proven track record of successfully applying system engineering principles to develop product solutions Must have experience in requirements elicitation, including using behavior diagrams as an analysis tool to understand and decompose requirements Creating and maintaining multiple Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and Interface Design Documents (IDDs) requires extensive experience in authoring ICDs and IDDs that are DID-compliant and follow DoD Standards Attend interface working group meetings with MDA customers and representatives from the assigned external element engineering organization, and support program integration and test activities for the associated interface Must be able to work effectively as part of an experienced team to develop systems engineering products and artifacts while following the program's Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP) and other procedures

Support spiral leadership to ensure that interface artifacts and system assessment tasks required for the assigned sensor interface are completed as needed

Salary range in Huntsville: $131,100 - $196,700 Salary range in Colorado Springs: $124,900 - $187,300 Basic Qualifications

Please list your current security clearance and IAT or relevant certifications on your resume, if applicable. A Bachelors Degree in STEM Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university is preferred, along with 8 years of experience; or a Masters degree (preferred) in a STEM related field with 6 years of relevant work experience; or a PhD in a related field with 4 years of relevant work experience Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% to support business needs Must have demonstrated Systems Engineering skills and experience with interface engineering, including:

Authoring of Interface Control Documents (ICDS) and Interface Design Documents (IDDS), to include: message definition and processing rules message formatting (e.g., XML, VMF, etc.) physical/network specifications and models, to include the ISO OSI model physical/network topologies and devices network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP)

Required requirements engineering and development of behavioral models and diagrams, including:

Use cases Sequence diagrams Activity diagrams

Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree in Systems Engineering Certification: INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) Certification Certification: Object Management Group Certified Systems Modeling Professional - Model Builder Fundamental (OCSMP - MBF) Requirements engineering, including experience working with IBM Rational's Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS), is highly desirable Risk Management Framework (RMF) -based cyber security, and experience with Agile or Iterative Development Methods are a plus Experience in authoring Missile Defense System (MDS) ICDs and IDDs is highly preferred Experience in authoring complex Command and Control Systems ICDs and IDDs is highly desirable
