Power Converter Design Engineer
Do you enjoy power converter design? Do you have a strong desire to work on projects that are critical to the defense of our nation? We are seeking a professional engineer to assume a key role within the System Power, Analog and Controls Department. What You Will Do: Design, analyze (including thermal considerations), simulate, and test power conversion circuitry potentially utilizing any standard non-isolated power conversion topologies (buck, boost, buck-boost) including modules and discrete designs Guide Electronic Computer-Aided Design (ECAD) personnel through PWB layout of power circuitry and technical drawing creation Perform design work within the bounds of a given schedule Present reviews of technical data to program leadership and technical staff This position is 100% ONSITE in Huntsville, Alabama. Qualifications You Must Have: Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) Minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience in design, analysis, simulation, and/or test experience with linear converters Experience with any of the following non-isolated converter topologies: buck, boost, and/or buck-boost Experience with design, analysis, and test with analog electronic design and analysis, such as FET, BJT, and/or Op-amp circuits The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance Qualifications We Prefer: Basic understanding of commonly used power conversion concepts, components, and techniques and/or motor drive control schemes Lab experience specific to power electronics and/or controls electronics Experience with use of software tools for electrical circuit simulation and/or printed circuit board layout such as Mentor Graphics DxDesigner, and/or Hyperlynx, SIMPLIS, Saber and/or analysis tool Mathcad & LTspice Document design and circuit performance verification experience Experience with performing circuit card assembly-level power architecture trades, and/or with system-level power architecture trades, including power converter specification development experience Design, analysis, and/or test experience with any of the following isolated converter topologies: flyback, half-bridge, full-bridge, and/or push-pull including stability What We Offer: Our values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world.
