Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused
Phlebotomist
to support our Clinical Research team. This is a
temporary position with the potential to transition into a permanent role
based on performance and research center needs. The individual will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of blood sample collection for ongoing and upcoming clinical research studies. The position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to innovative research in asthma, allergy, and immunology while working in a collaborative healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities Perform venipuncture, finger sticks, and other specimen collection procedures in accordance with clinical research protocols and safety standards. Accurately label, process, and prepare biological samples for laboratory analysis or shipment. Maintain proper documentation of sample collection in source documents and study logs per Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and sponsor requirements. Adhere strictly to study protocols, ensuring timely and precise sample collection. Monitor and report adverse reactions or complications during and after blood draws. Support research coordinators and nurses in scheduling participants and maintaining study visit flow. Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and institutional safety standards for infection control and biohazard handling. Maintain phlebotomy supplies, inventory, and cleanliness of the collection area. Participate in study team meetings, protocol training, and quality improvement initiatives. Provide professional, compassionate patient care to diverse populations participating in clinical trials. Qualifications
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent. Certification in Phlebotomy (e.g., CPT, RPT, or equivalent). Minimum 1 year of phlebotomy experience in a healthcare or research setting. Excellent venipuncture skills with pediatric and adult populations. Strong attention to detail, organizational, and documentation skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities. Commitment to confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA regulations. Preferred:
Previous experience in clinical research or laboratory sample handling. Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and FDA regulations. Familiarity with Clinical Conductor or other clinical trial management systems. Schedule & Employment Terms
