Warehouse Worker
to manage and execute daily warehouse functions. This position will be
Full-Time , first shift, 6 am-2:30 pm EST and
Onsite
In Mechanicsburg, PA. What Youll Do Receiving/Put away: Loads and unloads trucks and interfaces with common carriers. Signs bill of ladings for incoming shipments and processes IBL, packing lists for receipts from vendors using SAP. Checks incoming product against documentation to verify accuracy, sorts products, and prepares them for put away. Receives product into SAP using barcode scanners or computers. Puts product away in available space by proper area/zone using order pickers, turret trucks, pallet jacks, and barcode scanners. Breaks down/lumps floor-loaded containers
Picking: Picks products for customer orders, manufacturing orders, and sample requests using barcode scanners, pick tickets, shipping papers, order pickers, turret trucks, and manual or electric pallet jack. Performs other put away and pick duties, such as bin location audits, unit load, and carton transfers. Weighs or hand counts quantities needed to fill customer orders, manufacturing orders, and sample requests
Packing: Performs packing functions by reviewing SAP packing functions or ship sets to obtain packaging instructions. Performs special packaging, prints, and applies special labeling as required by each customer. Understands and follows the 107 specifications. Recognizes hazardous/flammable material and prepares for shipment per established procedures
Shipping: Prepares cartons and pallet loads for shipment by attaching proper shipment documentation as well as carrier required documentation. Prepares unit load shipments with stretch wrap or banding. Generates manifests and bill of ladings for each shipment checking against actual carton count in staging area. Contacts common carriers to arrange pick up for shipments. Loads and unloads cartons to/from pallets, carts, or conveyor by using forklift and manual or electric pallet jack
Additional Responsibilities: Manages recycling of wooden pallets and disposal of damaged pallets. Responsible for housekeeping and maintaining his/her workstation clean. Performs any related warehouse duties as directed such as trash removal, cart distribution, etc. Understands, follows, and participates in all safety, security, and emergency procedures. Submits suggestions to enhance performance through individual or team efforts. Determines if the product is damaged and requires QA audit or repacking. Presents any discrepancies to the Shift Foreperson
What You'll Need Required: High School/G.E.D. education and 1 year of relevant experience
Computer skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are required to perform essential job functions including reading various signage throughout the facility, comprehensive understanding of various documentation, understanding and communicating processes to ensure workplace safety and job efficiency
Preferred: Experience with SAP and warehouse equipment operation
Forklift experience
Physical Demands Operates powered order pickers, forklifts, turret trucks, electric/manual pallet jacks, stretch wrapping machine, laser scanners, etc. May be required to lift up to 50 lbs. and work on highs (up to 30 ft)
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards
Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
The pay range for this position is $18.00 per hour (USD). Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education.
